Sudeb Basu is a member of the Virginia State Bar. He is located in Fairfax County and practices in Virginia courts. However, Attorney Basu can represent clients nationwide in proceedings before immigration courts, in the adjudication of petitions by the USCIS, and in appealing administrative decisions that involve immigration law.
Sudeb obtained his Juris Doctor degree from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he was a staff member of the law review in his final year. While in law school, Sudeb interned at the United States Court of Federal Claims, where judges hear certain claims against the United States. Sudeb also interned at the Headquarters Immigration Court in Falls Church, Virginia, where immigration judges preside over removal (deportation) proceedings in all jurisdictions. Sudeb was a student volunteer with Legal Services for the Elderly. He also assisted attorneys in Montgomery County, Maryland, on criminal defense, domestic relations, and landlord-tenant matters.
Prior to law school, Sudeb was for many years a computer software developer in the telecom industry. He obtained his FAA private pilot's license in 1992, and later developed on-board flight control software for an aircraft. Sudeb enjoys riding his touring motorcycle, and in 2009 completed the USA Four Corners Tour.
Sudeb is admitted to practice in all courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and in some federal courts. As an attorney, Sudeb may represent clients nationwide before immigration courts or the Board of Immigration Appeals, and before agencies such as the USCIS.
